UK, Birmingham: 100 Rounds for #Gaza - 31.7.10

100 rounds of Continuous Body Shot Boxing Sparring for the War Torn children of Gaza.

This event is a joint collaboration between Shaykh Zaheer (As-Suffa Institute) and Neil Kelly (USKA Kickboxing). 


The aim of the event is firstly to raise awareness of the issues that affect the Palestinian people and secondly to raise aid for the effected Children of Gaza. For further information regarding the challenges that the Palestinian people face please visit www.interpal.org.

100 x2 minute rounds of continuous boxing Sparring.

The boxing event is a controlled, body shot only, sparring event between participants, No shots to the head at all. 

It is a men only event, we do not have the facilities to cater for female participation at present

Each round will be 2 minutes long with a 1 minute interval. In total the sparring will last approximately 5 hours. 

Participants can choose to do as many or as few rounds as they like. 

Participants can join in at anytime, so if for example a participant is unable to make it for the beginning or the first half, he can join in on the second half or whenever has been arranged. 

Participants wishing to do a set number of rounds should contact Neil Kelly (www.uskakickboxing.com) to make the relevant arrangements. 

Boxing experience is not necessary. There will be a range of experience and you will have the opportunity to spar from novice level through to the more experienced fighters. Equipment.

All participants are required to bring their own boxing gloves, gum shield and groin guard. These can be purchased from USKA Kickboxing if required. 

Adults (over 16’s) are required to wear 16oz sparring gloves.

Children (under 16’s) are required to wear 10oz sparring gloves.

Participation will only be permitted with the correct sparring equipment.

Sparring will take place on grass so appropriate footwear (trainers/boxing boots) should be worn. 

Sponsorship.

There is no minimum sponsorship amount. However participants are encouraged to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause. 

All proceeds will be donated to Interpal.

Viva Palestina will make the final total donation to Interpal.

Due to the nature of the challenges that the Palestinian people face, Zakah donations can also be used. Please refer to the As-Suffa website for additional information.

Childrens bouncy castle.
Face painting.
Food stalls.
Islamic clothing and artefacts sale. 
Henna artistry. 
Guest speakers. 

Parking Facilities.

Cannon Hill Park and its surrounding areas, has limited parking spaces. Please consider whether or not you need to bring a vehicle. Please also look in to the possibility of car sharing. Please be considerate of local residents and other road users.

Participants partake in this event entirely at their own risk. They shall not hold responsible the event organisers, USKA Kickboxing Academy, As-Suffa Institute or any other person/organisation associated with this event for any injury which may occur.

Participants understand that this is a controlled, body shot only, sparring event. No one will intentionally strike any other participant to the head or face. Participants will conduct themselves within the spirit of the event and pay due respect to fellow sparring partners irrespective of experience. 

Participants agree to unquestionably abide by the rules of the event as determined by the USKA and associated parties. Participants agree that failure to adhere to the rules may result in their participation being terminated. If the right to participate is withdrawn participants understand it is their sole responsibility to refund any sponsors. 

Participants declare that they have been certified fit to participate in this event & have taken all reasonable steps to prepare for it.
