In the first week of May an international flotilla of ships will be sailing from across the globe to break the blockage in Gaza. The ships will be loaded with the much needed cement & building materials, medicine & medical equipment, wheelchairs, school & art supplies, playground & sports equipment – basic necessities we take for granted, that the past 4 years of the blockade have denied Gazans making normal life impossible.
One of the ships, The Free Gaza Movement's 'MV Rachel Corrie', will be sailing from Cork in Ireland in the week following the Mayday bank holiday. (Next Weekend!)
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO ACT!
A large amount of cargo space is still available. So a convoy of vehicles is setting off from the across the UK to drive to Dundalk and help fill the Gaza bound ship on Saturday May 1st . Anybody can join and almost all aid is welcome.
How you can help...
MOBILIZE AND COLLECT AID:
Most things are needed in Gaza, building materials, medical equipment and educational materials, toys, new clothes. You can give anything from pens, pencils, blank books, footballs, tennis rackets, tools or contact us if you can help purchase requested medical items. Ask around friends and in your area, stick up posters in communities put a call out in your local paper and arrange local collections.
Please - No used clothes and no non-medical chemicals.
BE PART OF THE CONVOY:
Any vehicle is welcome. The trip should last 2 days, 1 there 1 back, we have free overnight accommodation in a local hall. We aim to meet up at Holyhead at midday on Saturday May 1st, there will also be a contingent leaving from Stranraer for a Scottish contingent. The total cost per vehicle will be around £500 including petrol and ferries .
You can raise this in donations or if you have a vehicle and are unable to afford the travel please speak to your local contact as you still may be able to help.
