USA, New York: Gaza Flotilla Participant & Former US Ambassador Edward Peck Speaks 6.10.10

Former US Ambassador Edward Peck was aboard the Gaza Freedom Flotilla that was bound for the besieged Palestinian people of Gaza this summer. The flotilla of six ships was raided by Israeli soldiers in international waters; 9 activists were shot at close range in the head in what a UN investigation termed "summary executions".

Edward Peck will speak of his own experiences on the Flotilla, as well as possible ways to move forward from the situation.

The talk is sponsored by the Bard International Solidarity Movement and co-sponsored by the Bard Human Rights Project.

This will be a rare event, at which Bard students and local community members will not only hear a prominent former US Diplomat, but also get a first-hand account of this summer's tragic voyage.
