USA: Conference of the Movement for One Democratic State in Palestine October 22-24, 2010 Dallas, Texas

Invitation

Dear Activist,
You are invited to participate in the ODS Conference for One Democratic State in Historic Palestine to be held on 22-24 October 2010.

We would greatly value your attendance because we need your support.
The time has come for the Palestinian solidarity movement to change course. Israel’s policies in the occupied Palestinian territories have made a just and stable two-state solution impossible. Instead, the diplomatic process now steered by the U.S. and Israeli governments promises only to strip away the rights of the Palestinian people and consign them to greater division and suffering. The Palestinian “state” looks every day more like a Bantustan. We may soon even see another war in the Middle East.
We are convinced that the only just, viable and stable solution to the conflict is one unified democratic state, embracing all of Israel and the Palestinian territories, in which all citizens would have equal rights. The time has come to launch a movement to achieve this noble goal. We are confident that it will be triumphant because it is based on human rights principles defended and cherished around the world, especially the fundamental equality of all people in dignity and rights.
We invite you first to endorse the Declaration of the Movement for One Democratic State in Palestine. When you have done so, you are invited to join other signors in Houston where together we will launch this movement. Our goals in the conference are:
• Affirm the Declaration for One Democratic State in Palestine.
• Decide on the structure of the Movement.
• Discuss and adopt a plan of action for the Movement.
• Launch the Movement.
If you need additional information, do not hesitate to contact us.
This Conference is sponsored by Al -Awda of Texas in memory of the late Abu Obeidah, who was the main organizer of this event in Houston. He was killed on August 13, 2010 at the age of 42.
